marshallpayne@gmail.comI am a writer of SF, fantasy and horror. I have done 17 interviews with various luminaries of the field, as well as up-and-coming SF/F writers, for The Fix, the short fiction review magazine published by TTA Press, which can be seen HERE.
Rochita Loenen-Ruiz did an interview with me at The Sword Review, where I talk about my odd path to becoming a writer from being a professional musician, among other things.
Last July I made my first professional sale, my short story "Bullet," to Æon Speculative Fiction, which will be released in their 2009 anthology, End of an Æon. And recently my second pro sale, "The Collection Plate," to Brutarian. My SF story, "Sausages," will be appearing in Talebones #38 in Spring 2009.
My SF story “The Rendezvous” appears in Fictitious Force #6. And my decadent lesbian goddess power fantasy, “Dharma and Bert,” appears in Polluto: The Anti-Pop Culture Journal, Issue #3: “Sex in the Time of VHS,” and is reviewed at The Fix by Jim Steel.
Also, my story “The New Elementals” was selected for the Best of 2007 DEP’s anthology Distant Passages Volume 3. And my flash piece, "The Blue Testament," is now out in Kaleidotrope #5, and is reviewed by Sam Tomaino at SFRevu.
My far-future Victorian SF tale, "Pugilists," is now out in British print zine Ballista #6
My story, "The Arachnid Meme" which was in Allegory Spring/Summer 2007, is available for download HERE
